...actually i'm sad that Oda humiliate Lucci like this while Lucci is the one who in the past gave Luffy the best fight of his life. If only Oda make Lucci fully recognize Luffy's power, it will make him at least respectable powerlevel-wise. So that Luffy didnt need to avoid Shigan while taking a nap like the previous chapter

I have no issue with the likes of Lucci not acknowledging Luffy or refusing to believe he's so far passed them. The guy was a near-equal to Luffy at Enies Lobby so of course he'll take a while to adjust to Luffy somehow being so far above him. Shoot, his growth has been astronomical so I can't blame Lucci being in disbelief but it is delusional.
Akainu surprisingly is showing Luffy his due respect in all instances since Wano but Aramaki doubting him was disappointing (Aramaki wanted smoke with the whole alliance that took down 2 Emperors and one of their crews, I just don't get that guy's reasoning).
Overall, Lucci being arrogant fits. Luffy and him were near rivals once upon a time ago so of course he can't believe that despite being promoted to CP0, going on missions and training for 2 years and even getting awakening that Luffy's so passed him that he had him passing out after a few blows. Lucci not acknowledging Luffy isn't strange.

People say Luffy was playing around, but man thats literally what Gear 5 is about. The one who did not use no named attack yet was Lucci... Sure he would lose, but he could definitely land some hefty blows on Luffy. And if Luffy should ran out of Gear 5 for whatever reason, he's done.

Lucci set the standard with that initial clash with G5, having awakening and having impressive durability and recovery. Obviously it pailed in comparison to G5 Luffy and he got wrecked.
I hope Enel and Crocodile show off even more. I appreciate Oda not tossing old enemies aside. He could justify their strength better but it's been 2 years, other people with great potential and abilities should also remain somewhat relevant (like Lucci still being hyped by Who's Who and as a top member of CP0 and Crocodile gaining that hefty bounty and getting hype for his fruit).
