I'd argue Luffy evan failed with Vegapunk considering Kizaru had all the time to headshot with him a laser beam if he did not have to prepare himself emotionally
Give Kizaru Ryokugyu personality and bye half the crew already.
Luffybros has to cope by telling themselves Kizaru is running away (by that logic Kizaru did the same thing with Franky last chapter lol) to not face the massive Ls.
Ray could keep Kizaru in check, why can't Goofy do it?

Yes, that’s one thing I kinda didn’t like. Kizaru could have killed Vegapunk or the other Strawhats in the control room twice now.
The whole point of the time skip and training to prevent another Sabaody is kinda diminished when this sort of thing can still happen. On top of that, this is Kizaru going into the dome alone in the dome even.
The silly Gear 5 gags don’t help it either.
