Oda has limited Law and Kid's accomplishments so Luffy can look better.

For instance, we should've had Law Luffy Kid vs. Kaido.

Instead we got "Luffy vs. Kaido" (after Scabbards vs. Kaido, Rooftop 5 vs. Kaido, Zoro and Law vs. Kaido, Yamato vs. Kaido) and Big Mom v Kid and Law.
Law and Kid defeating Big Mom outright is more impressive, so Oda has to introduce bombs to make it seem like they got help and Nika hype. Bege's fruit powered cannons couldn't put a dent in Big Mom yet the plot bombs were so important.

The defeat of 2 yonkos by 1 alliance is by far the most impressive accomplishment so far in the story. 3b is the least bounty Law, Luffy and Kid deserve. Oda also invented a way to give BUGGY a yonko title instead of Kid, Law, or both.

Then there's the race to Laughtale with the poneglyphs. Oda is trying to make it a race, but only Robin can read them??

There is no logic.

Oda is limiting Law and Kid but at the same time he is trying to portray them as equals of Luffy?

Fuck logic, this is Oda. The most important thing is being impredictable. Too bad everybody knows predicts he will do dumb stuff with dumb decisions and will fuck up the story. Guess what? People are guessing right now.

Their rivalry is more competent than the one Whitebeard or Shiki had with Roger lol. People seriously try to wank Shiki & Whitebeard as Roger's "rivals", but then try to bash Law & Kid. It's insanely comical and ridiculous.

While Roger had his crew and was doing his journey for laughtale - Whitebeard & Shiki were underlings for Roger's "greatest foe"

After Roger with Garp beat down on those two and their captain, then in their early 40s did they properly start to compete with Roger.

Roger while he was getting ready for his second journey for laughtale - Whitebeard & Shiki were gathering up their crews still.

While Roger had a stacked crew - Whitebeard had a crew with bunch of children and few competent commanders (who eventually left his crew later) and 1 samurai from wano (who also left his crew later) - Shiki amassed a giant fleet aka surpassed Whitebeard

Then Whitebeard's strongest crewmate joins Roger and leaves him to never comeback to Whitebeard again lol. While Shiki who tried to take out Roger with his giant fleet, got his fleet fucked up & messed up his own head.


Law & Kid - Never became subordinates to another captain who rivals Luffy, WB & Shiki did.
Law & Kid - competing against Luffy with their own crews from their early 20s, took WB & Shiki their late 30s/early 40s to get into competition with Roger.



They're rivals in the long run of their lives not just for the few in-verse months/years the story is going to showcase. And for that, they're on the perfect track, and have shown more competence as rivals than Whitebeard or Shiki did.

Kid was never a suborndinate. That is why Kid had CoC Haki. Law on the other hand was Doflamingo's subordinate and does not have CoC.

Kid is the Shiki of this era. He is competing with Luffy. They even have similar powers.

Law is not competing with Luffy whatsoever.

I still think something is wrong with this "rivalry" we don't feel any threat. Kid and Law aren't threatening.

And in influence, in feats, in individual power, in crew power, in fleet, in poneglyph Luffy has 3 and they only have 2 in addition Luffy has Robin for poneglyphs, former members of Whitebeard and Roger are all behind Luffy.

There is no competition.

What accomplishments exaclty ? We never saw Kidd doing absolutely nothing besides defeating a Sweet Commander offscreen, and getting his hand cut from RHP.

Law on the side had his moments for sure, but going from losing Mid diff from Mingo to be able to fight a Yonko just because of his awakening is the definition of forced hype to me.

Kinda agree with you. The defeat of two yonko at the the hand three rookies with like 3-4 yrs of pirating is an even bigger accomplishment than Roger and Garp taking out the rocks pirates in my opinion.

WB and Shiki weren't on Roger's level

Roger defeated Xebec, who has better hype than almost any other pirate. WB might have had a higher bounty than Xebec, but Shiki said that Rocks was Roger's greatest rival, so that puts an end to that.
Not to mention the fact that Xebec had multiple yonko under him and was a D, while WB just had a couple of teenagers on his crew during the Roger era.

Lastly, while WB did equal Roger, this was only towards the end when WB was in his prime, whereas Roger was dying of his illness. There's no indication that WB or shiki were ever on par with Prime Roger, the roger that beat Xebec.

I still think it is forced and that's because Oda wants more people of Luffy's level in the new gen.

However, if Luffy fans are okay with being rivals with Kid and Law, I (as a primarily Zoro/Mihawk fan) am okay with it too. Besides Luffy himself is okay with being rivals with them too.

The icing on the cake for me would be if Zoro earns WSS AFTER leaving the Straw Hat Pirates. That way, Luffy/Law/Kid rivalry will have nothing to do with me.
