I know Orochi screwed Oden over. He practically brought over a foreign army to help him orchestrate a Coup.
That said saying he interfered in the Kaido vs Oden fight in order to help Kaido win is just yonko bias when we know for a fact Oden was fighting alongside Ashura againts Kaido

Kinemon was more painful about the experience because of how Kaido treated Oden after the defeat. Things like boiling him alive in front of the kids and stuff. Again this has nothing to do with actual fight.
You make it sound like King and others were just watching their captain getting ganged on.
Sure, Asura faced Kaido, and I daresay Oden might have faced some commanders since it was an all out war.
Like Marineford, WB clashed with Aokiji, Kizaru and Akainu.
Akainu clashed with WB, Jozu, Ace, Marco.
In a war, there will always be outside forces you may face other than your main opponent.
However, my main point is how Luffy reacted to Oden's downfall. Luffy acted like Oden wad down because of some cheap ass tactics by Orochi.
Calling an army from Kaido to overthrow Oden isn't really that dirty if they will do it head on.
Luffy has always seen people overthrow others, but. he only calls something dirty when it was so cheap.
Hell, even when Katakuri siblings attacked him, Luffy said "fairness isn't given in pirate fights"
And Luffy never reacted in a bad way about how cheap it is.
Even with Crocodile when Crocodile was using poison on him, Luffy was okay with it, and Crocodile told him "don't say it's unfair, that's a pirate battle"
Both Kaido and Oden are pirates!
For Luffy to call it a BS and so dirty must mean Oden was screwed in his fight
(at least that's how I interpret Luffy's character)
Again, I'm not underestimating a yonko nor downplaying them when I say that.
Because after this chapter, I'm more convinced than ever that Oden is built like Kaido and BM from his childhood! A freak of nature who might have been as strong as Yonko in his prime.
And considering he was at age 40, that's his PRIME!
While Kaido now is at his prime, 20 years ago was not his prime, so the possibility of Kaido was under Oden is not a downplay to Kaido, cause Shanks became a yonko only 6 years ago. Same for Kaido whom we don't know when he accomplished it.
If Oden was equal to or higher than Kaido back then, it is NOT a farfetched statement.
Which is why I say that getting screwed over in a fight is not something that would belittle Kaido's current level since now he is SURELY stronger than 20 years ago.
So, again, we have to wait and see how the flashback will turn out, but overall, my money is on Oden getting screwed over by Orochi or his men when he faced Kaido.
