Chapter Discussion Luffy Stopping Hakai?

Apparently, some "fans" are adamant about how Zoro fans are over hyping the feat he pulled off in Chapter 1009. However, these people have not yet provided a valid argument for this "over hype".
So this thread is to present an opportunity. How will Luffy perform if he was the one to try stopping Hakai?


From the Manga, the above question is rather straight forward. Luffy has been pushed back by physical attacks he tried blocking several times in post skip.
* PhysicalAttacks as noted here does not include unlockables like gravity and does not include attacks he took mid air.
Non of these attacks are even remotely close to Hakai. Most of these attacks have been from Doffy and Katakuri.

Zoro on the other hand has never been pushed back by a physical attack in post skip.
* PhysicalAttacks as noted here does not include unlockables like gravity and does not include attacks he took mid air.
This means there's nothing inconsistent about Zoro's feat of momentarily stopping an Island busting attack from Big Mom and Kaido. *For those who claim retcon and zenkai boosts.


So as Thread has presented, advance your arguments for or against Luffy's chances of blocking Hakai.

a borobreath which is a fodder tier move in comparison
whilst he tanked in g4 he was noticabley damaged

and just last chapter
even in base WITH A HAKI GUARD (something zoro didnt do)

got sent flying by a no name club that hurt him through his haki
he aint doing shit

No one is denying Zoro stopped the attack for 1 second‚ but that is it ‚ 1 second which most propably any top tier could have done then die anyway if Law didn't intervene. I am not sure what is impressive about blocking an attack for a second which was going to kill him if Law wasn't there

He's mid air so that doesn't count lol. But u agree, he can't stop it. Waiting for the pro Luffy guys like @Celestial D. Dragon and @sanjikun to advance their arguments of how we are "Zorotards" for hyping the feat.

Possible but Luffy's barrier got broken by Big Mom in Udon and Kaido in this chapter. The barrier strength is also based on his haki strength which was broken by Ulti

When Luffy was getting the hang of his new Haki, Big Mom sent him and the guy behind him packing with a nameless, amnesiac punch. Yes he's stronger now but it's pretty silly to think he's that much improved

Hence why I said maybe. Luffy isnt going to be in a position where he'll be blocking any powerful shockwaves until he fights BB. So you can really only speculate at the point lol

Possible but Luffy's barrier got broken by Big Mom in Udon and Kaido in this chapter. The barrier strength is also based on his haki strength which was broken by Ulti

Tbf, Luffy hadnt fully mastered the barrier at that point. Who knows how powerful it is post Udon. We can only wait an see once Luffy uses it again.

Hyo and Ray could manifest a full barrier and atleast repel, Luffy straight up failed at it vs Big Mom
