Akainu killed Ace who was trying protect Luffy's life. Akainu put mark on him.
Problem is that Luffy's scar will never dissapear, so you saying he will not care about Akainu case his main goal will be Imu, who did nothing to luffy, while Sabo will kill Akainu? You know that will give zero impact in story. Plus Luffy will nevee avenge even himself

Sincerely speaking with the entire cancerous fuckery of Admiral vs Yonko put aside, i would rather see Luffy utterly stomping Akainu around if that's the price needed to have Luffy be the one that finishes Akainu off over watching that opportunity degenerate to a 1v1 with the incel Ace copy-paste piece of shit nobody gives a fuck about.
Akainu is one opponent against whom Luffy can't afford to be an underdog as that would mean certain death. In order for him to win the fight without suffering any serious consequences, he needs to be as much above Akainu as possible. Akainu'd still be a threat to Luffy even if he's stronger than Roger.
Sabo already confirmed he doesn't hold anyone accountable for Ace's death. He understands perfectly why Ace died, but it's a different story for Luffy. Ace died protecting him, so he still has that guilt in him.
