In Zoro's introduction arc, Zoro is paired with the strongest guy around and wins. Luffy gets Helmeppo.
In Baratie, Zoro is paired with Mihawk but doesnt win. Luffy gets satisfied with Don Krieg.
In Sabaody, Zoro is paired with Kizaru while Luffy with Sentomaru but neither end up winning.
Kizaru belongs to Zoro just like Mihawk, Shiryu, EthanBaron belong to Zoro. No way around it.

His thro arc both him and Luffy were paired with the strongest only Zoro got the finishing blow which only happened to showcase his strength since it’s literally his introduction. In Baratie, Zoro got paired with Mihawk cuz he is Zoro’s goal it’s only logical. In Sabaody, other SHs got paired with Kizaru not just Zoro it wasn’t special just for him. Again never think any character would get a special treatment, focus, stronger opponent than the MC Luffy. That’s how Oda does his story so never expect anything else.

Im not the biggest Luffy fan but come on. G5 is a broken ability that is strong enough to curb stomp any of the Admirals 1v1. Luffy’s powers are seriously gonna need to be nerfed eventually. Akainu’s strongest magma attack can’t be that much stronger than Kaido’s volcanic dragon form where he became magma itself. Even then G5 low-diffs almost everything. I mean if Kuzan (who Akainu high diffed) is struggling against Garp that kind of tells you everything you need to know.
