this was years ago but we had a disgruntled artist sending emails to Nintendo to convince them to send a cease and desist to EE bc the staff wouldnt let them join the dev team

also the former owner got tricked into selling to the new owner(?) by having a bunch of loopholes in the contract that werent ironed out leaving the previous owner with basically nothing

but the former owner also fired 3 people in the same day for disagreeing with him only to rehire one since he didnt know how to code

good times. peak drama

my community somehow lives on despite the drama. it's actually a meme that my community cannot die since it's been 5 years since the game shut down and yet ppl still post sometimes and are active in discords / making remakes
