I do think a quarantine on things would help by corralling it to a single section or thread. Because people are going to vent to a degree. And when they do it’s going to be everywhere else in the section & here. And even if mods silence the talk of it, if people haven’t been able to say their peace it’s just going to bottle up and boil over.
I think realistically for health, you’d still want that section moderated to a reasonable degree. Basically allowing the convos that already wind up happening but then get stopped short.

I disagree, I feel like it can fan the flames and have the opposite effect in some cases. Not all. But some. Then again it can also allow people to talk about people in a light without them seeing it and others to comment. Overall bad idea. As bad an idea was for Onelastanus to allow what happened there and they wanted something similar. Well, we see what happened to that mafia section. lol and I don't think we need venting section here, I just think so because it doesn't matter if people can vent or not. People will, and staff will stop it if it gets out of control. Unlike onelast mafia section. I like to think if it ain't broken don't try to fix it.

I’m far from vested in the idea either way. But at face value if I had to deal with it all in its own thread or it everywhere else and in need of clean up I’d probably pick the former.
I don’t think sweeping your dirty laundry into another room is making the house more dirty. It’s just keeping it from spilling out everywhere else.
I also don’t think telling everyone to stay silent and boil when they’re tilting for whatever reason is that optimal either because it’s eventually gotta come out one way or another if it’s bad enough that it was gonna be toxic.
Part of that is probably my own personality. If I have to stop a conversation before I’ve had a chance to fully say my peace and feel satisfied, personally it’s going to build up and I’m gonna crash out once it gets to a point where I no longer care about the consequences to myself because I was bottling it lol.
