Character Discussion Mihawk has literally done nothing (not hating)

#1
- Has no backstory
- Is the rival of shanks but happens off screen
- Beat Haki-less Zoro
- Pretended to fight in a war
- Trained Zoro
- Became a yonko commander under Buggy
- Survived an attack from World government fodder

He's just here for Zoro and Buggy's character arcs.

He did bang Perona though so he is goated for that at least. (I hope so)

- Claims Mihawk has done literally nothing.
- Makes an incomplete list of which several things are things Mihawk has done.
- The first entry of said list claims Mihawk has no backstory.
- The second entry of the list proves Mihawk already has on-story backstory than Kid, despite Mihawk still not having had an arc.
- Ends the post by proving he's an edgy teenager by valuing a character over his sexual life.

Sad, but that's youth. For some.

Yeah he has done nothing as in he's had no screentime since pre timskip.

He just pops up from time to time for a panel or two...

Even pre-TS Mihawk barely had screentime, but that's normal. One Piece follows Luffy's journey closely and characters only become more active and relevant when it's their arc. Dragon has been the same, or worse. Shanks had it a little better but he's barely appeared until very recently. It was the same for the other Yonko and top tiers in general. Even guys Doflamingo. Oda likes keeping characters on the back rows for years until it's their turn.

Mihawk's "problem" are actually two problems that stem from him being introduced in the first 50 chapters.
- It's been more than 25 years now. People feel like he should have gotten a lot more because of that, but Oda is really just following his usual pattern that he's kept for all of those other characters as well. It's just that Kaido and Big Mom's time came before his.
- Mihawk was introduced to set the ceiling of strength in the series, but Oda himself didn't know just how absurd said ceiling would become, making what were then mind breaking feats feel dated (although still very cool to me).

In the end it's just a matter of waiting for his turn. It will come.
