Speculations More things that bug me about Oda.

Ginny. Not one attack of hers was shown. Oda went through the trouble of creating her and giving her a fatal disease and making her a commander in the revolutionary army and giving her nothing personality or attack wise.

It's like she's some fantasy Oda had in his mind. He could have easily made Kuma Bonney's biological father but no he went the other route because you know the troupe characters like Kuma can't have kids.

What are you talking about? This isn’t berserk.

Yes, Ginny was captured to be a CD’s wife and she did get impregnated. But Oda basically glossed over the rape aspect.

For all we know, Ginny was never raped. Bonney might have been created as one of Saturn’s experiments.

That being said, Ginny probably was raped. But the fact remains that Oda barely addressed it. Calling him a pervert for having rape(which happens irl) exist in the OP world is idiotic. There is nothing wrong with rape existing in a story, rape is a real phenomenon.

It only becomes an issue when authors depict rape in almost pornographic way, something I think Berserk is guilty of. Or alternatively using a woman’s rape for the sole purpose of motivating a male character, which imo is just distasteful. Again that’s not how Kuma was written.

Berserk is masterpiece . Oda could learn from Berserk how to draw at least sword fights . Also Berserk drawing is honestly 5 times better.

I love berserk

But let’s not act like Miura was using rape tactfully.

I don’t know why Miura had to have Casca constantly get raped, but the extent to which it happens is honestly kinda sick tbh. It seems less of an important storytelling decision at times and more of simply indulging in the author’s fantasies.

Berserk has good art and character development

but it’s treatment of female characters is questionable

Okay? One piece female characters doesn't even wear underwear so what are you talking about? I'm not reading berserk for the female characters
Good for you then

I’m just rightfully criticizing an aspect of the story that is questionable.

Miura didn’t need to put nearly as many rape scenes as he did into the manga. Many of them served no purpose and were purely for shock value or for the author’s/reader’s entertainment.

Well you really should realise that art is a way for artist to indulge his fantasies , that very well may be the case here.
And I don’t think Miura is necessarily a bad person for using art to indulge his fantasies.

but it does tbh detract from the value of his work

Are you criticizing rape scenes as acts of violence/gore or as act of nudity/sexualizing females ?

What about one piece women not wearing underwear? Does it detract? Or like how every fucking time oda has to remind us that kiku is a woman and Yamato thinks she's something she's not
