well that would actually be the case for 99% of iranians even if they don't know what anime is
I mean I'm only reading one piece and bungou stray dogs manga wise at that point, I stopped reading manga except ongoing series I'd already been reading week to week (ie fairy tail, bleach, naruto, one piece, etc). I was heavily meh about naruto so stopped at baruto, fairy tail was kind of mediocre asf, and bleach fell off hard after souls society tbh.
As far as anime, I guess Demon Slayer and Haikyuu. The only anime from 2019/2020 I've watched are Vinland Saga and Dr. Stone. So haven't watched jujutsu kaisen, fire force, the promised neverland (plan to watch), etc. Oh wait, I did watch one episode of that anime about going across america in a car race, well didn't even finish an episode I don't think, but only cuz I was watching it with someone who I don't see often and we prioritized Durarara and the other 2020 or whatever anime I'm about to mention. I've watched I believe 3 episodes of The Great Pretender and it's great. Would be done with it if I watched it on my own but started it with my friend who discords me once a week (not in the last 3 weeks cuz he's busy with school) to screen share watch anime on my side. We've been prioritizing Durarara.
I avoid Black Clover cuz that is the most generic 2004 anime ever.
I stopped watching One Punch Man after a few episodes cuz it wasn't that good besides animation quality
I don't watch like harem anime besides season 1 of Is It Wrong To PIck UP Girls in a Dungeon, I don't know if I just got better taste, but season 2 when it somewhat recently came out was complete ass and I dropped it
Haven't seen food wars or shield hero
Got bored after 1 episode of Overlord
Watched like one season of Kuroko no Basket before dropping it
Need to watch more of Magus bride, have the first volume and watched episode 1 but dropped it for a long time

My Hero is decent, enough to keep up when the anime comes out, excited for Attack on Titan's final season, etc
The reason I haven't read berserk is because I read a few chapters but that was around the time I stopped being interested in manga most for the most part. Heard the anime is hot garbage.
