I had a theory log ago that he'd use a staff like Goku and Sun Wukong, which he is inspired from. And will be able to extend it too thanks to his awakening.
That would be cool but I think a bit late to introduce a new fighting style to Luffy.. well you never know, G4 is a kind of a new fighting style

He will probably need something to fight both Akainu and BB. Because as it stands BB will nullify him period and magma is too hot
