Speculations Multiple eye rings = 1 body carrying multiple souls and possession

Quick theory but i think characters with more than 1 eye ring might carry multiple souls. (At least humans)

1. Mihawk - potentially sharing his body with yoru
2. Cavendish - hakuba might be do to durandal trying to take over his body since he hasn't been strong enough to wield it
3. Imu - might be from the void century and if so taking over others body to live longer orochimaru style would make sense
4. Kaido - when in what i believe to be his awakened form (when his face changes) probably sharing his body with his fruit. Potentially why awakening zoans are so dangerous for the user since the fruits soul might take over completly
5. Luffy - i think it might be something similar to kaido and other awakened zoans but the soul of the fruit and soul and body of the person who ate it fit so well it's basically a perfect match. Giving luffy an extra thicc eye ring exept 2 separate ones

And Fans need to understand certain things:

1. Mihawk have them because he isn't supposed to only represent WSS but actually WSS of All Times, this way when Zoro defeats him, it will be as if he surpassed all Swordsmen indeed

2. Zunisha The Elephant isn't the one who committed a Crime, it's actually the Person living inside Zunisha, his Punishment was to be put inside this Elephant because it can live for a long time, this way that person's Punishment is to remain alive to witness a certain Event

3. Imu-Sama is a Female but possessed by someone else. Do you remember Shandia? They were gonna sacrifice the Most Beautiful Female to their God (That Snake). The same thing was being done in God's Valley, Celestial Dragons were all there because they were invoking something, or choosing the Host for Imu-Sama, & that's why Xebec went there & that's why it's called God's Valley & that's why Imu was holding Vivi's Picture (Cuz she is the Next Vessel). However there is a Plot Twist here, i will talk about it another day

4. As for Kaidou, Dragon's Double-Layered Eyes were actually teased back in Skypiea when Satori summoned a Dragon made of Balls & he had Double-Layered Eyes, while Ohm had a Dog & Shura had a Bird, guess what? Enel had Four Drums behind him, one of them was a Dog, second one was a Bird & then he used a Dragon Attack against Luffy, but interesting part is that he used Two Drums to summon him, as if Dragon = 2in1

Big Mom's Homies also gained multiple Layers in their Eyes when they were fed more Souls
While Caribou have Three-Layered Eyes & that's a Hint cuz his DF allowed him to absorb many People

I can give you more Examples, however most of these are just Hints & Teases, the ones you should really think hard about are Mihawk, Imu & Zunisha

There is also X-Drake
At first i thought it's because he have Dragon Dragon No Mi
But after seeing other Dragon DF Users don't have Double-Layered Eyes, i realized it's because of something else

Conveniently X-Drake Forehead is always Hidden (Even thought his Face Mask Design completely changed Post-TS)
He doesn't seem to be from Three-Eyed Tribe cuz we've seen him as a Kid & also saw his Father
But what's interesting is that put that Mask after becoming a Pirate (Indicating he wore it after he became SWORD Member)
Interestingly, only other Member confirmed from SWORD is Koby & he also hid his Forehead after ranking up in Marines
Only thing distinctive is his Scar under it

It might seem like a Normal Scar, however if you read One-Shot before One Piece, you find that Oda incorporated a Legend about
Protector with Head Scar (Narrator mentioned it indicating that it's important)

OP Readers should really pay attention to Scars & Eyes
It might seem like random Designs, but Oda just like he is crazy about Numbers, he is also crazy about other Details & wants to give everything meaning & lore

I mean, shouldn't all Devil Fruit users have such eyes then, sharing a body with a devil? Especially Blackbeard, who has two Devil fruits, which in itself also indicates that he has multiple souls or bodies grown inside of him, which would mean he has at least 4 souls stored in one physical vessel. Yet he has normal eyes.

If you say only in case of awakening.. Katkauri? Kidd? law? Doffy? (We saw Doffy's eye in the flashback). Awakened Zoans maybe? What's with the Impel Down beasts?

I think your explanations are very far fetched. Like Mihawk sharing a body with Yoru or someone sitting inside Zunisha's body, hence those 2 circles around the pupil appearing. It seems like you just wanted to make this theory work.

Cavendish Backstory is literally told in the name itself
Cavendish is known as "The White Horse"
During his Introduction in Corrida Colosseum, Oda made sure to show him with his Horse
When War started in Dressrosa, Oda made sure to show Cavendish angry after his Horse got defeated
And when he drew him as a Kid, he also drew the Horse with him (Btw his Horse is White obviously)

What's more interesting is that Hakuba means "White Horse"
So the idea is very simple, Cavendish most probably had a Brother & they both loved that Horse so much
Either they had to take turns in riding the Horse or in my personal opinion the Horse was only to be given to one of them by their Parents

So Cavendish & his Brother argued & both wanted the Horse so badly, which led to an Accident or Incident where Cavendish Brother died
All he ever wanted was to ride that White Horse who is their Treasure similar to how Straw Hat is Luffy's Treasure

PTSD from that Incident & the way Cavendish's Brother died with such Hurtful Feelings is what made Cavendish have Split Personality or become Possessed (In Japanese Mythology & also Sea Mythology, a Hateful Spirit will eventually return to take Revenge or settle Score)
And if you check entire Dressrosa Arc, Hakuba was shown multiple times, but never on Horse Back
Cuz i believe that for Cavendish to finally make peace with his Brother & gain his Swordsmanship (His Next Power-Up), he must let Hakuba ride the Horse which will greatly calm him, allowing the two Souls to fully Fuse & become truly "Cavendish of The White Horse"

It's a good point you mentioned here except that Blackbeard doesn't have "One Body"
His Story is completely something else

Hakuba is always inside him & yet his Eyes are Normal, but only when both take control over the body does the Eyes become Double-Layered

So even if DF Users possess a Second Soul inside of them, it submits to them & they tap into it's Powers, not the other way around
Double-Layered Eyes People are those who Perfectly Fused (Chapter where Cavendish/Hakuba appeared together was named Half & Half)

Think of it this way, DF Users are "Red Soul" with Smaller "Yellow Soul" (DF Souls) Inside them which they can tap into to use their Powers.
But Double-Layered Eyed People (Imu, Mihawk & Zunisha) are "Orange Souls"

Discussion in case of Luffy and Kaido those they have other spirit or a being thing living inside himself or not.

Fisrt- Awakening is what happen whens your mind and body catch up to your power not the soul in the devil fruit taking over it users. Or the soul in the devil fruit allow you to awakening it. Or the soul in devil fruit combining with it users. That is what stated until now.

Second - Oda: Who am I (one person) ? I'm Monkey D. Luffy (one person). The man (one person) who will surpass you and become king of the pirates

Third - Sanji who is COA specialist only percept Luffy present.
