Myth or wut? Blackbeard Never Sleeps

The reasonable assumption is that Blackbeard is a human and therefore he has to sleep at least some portion of the time or he would die, so this has always been an unclear thing to me - does he or does he not tuck himself in at night, some days?

This is based off of Shanks and Buggy discussing how Blackbeard didn't sleep at all during their encounter as kids. (I'm not sure either why people think that he simply never sleeps - he may have just not slept during that encounter).

I think it's more of depression of not being able to sleep than any kind supernatural body,as he was shown Crying

If he has 3 hearts and a special octopus fishmen type, then just like octopuses need almost no sleep (around just 10 min sleep everyday), then its possible he might not need to sleep more than few minutes.

Marco also mentioned that Blackbeard has a "strange body" (chapter #577). He never specified, but it may also be related to his capability of "surviving without sleep". The most common theory is that Blackbeard has multiple bodies (usually 3, as his Jolly Roger indicates).
