Controversial Naruto is so clear of One Piece its not even close

Aww, you tried to use my own words against me. That's cute.
And yes, groups like ANBU did indeed do classical ninja things...except that they are the "ninja" for entities that are supposed to be doing shit like that in the very first place.
Do me a favor. Go on YouTube and watch a bit of gameplay from a series called "Tenchu". Then come back at reflect on something as utterly idiotic as someone penning a concept like a "Shinobi World War".

And there have been other ninja works with demons and sorcerers and the like, and still held to the concept, like say...Ninja Scroll. Or the aforementioned Tenchu.
An issue with Naruto is 99% of the entire cast is a ninja. Off the top of my head, the head of the Land of Iron, Mifune, is the only character in the later part of the series who isn't a fucking ninja.
Imagine if 99% of the cast of One Piece were pirates. All the Marines were pirates, all the countries and their rulers were pirates republics, just everyone marginally important in the show is a pirate. Do you think that would be good worldbuilding?
Also, double post because I can, I know Orochimaru got binned way too early in the story because Kishi wanted to focus on the Akatsuki and all, but for a guy who was basically the de facto dictator of the Land of Sound, he really didn't have much of an army, did he? Just teenage genin. Did he have one single adult jounin?

A lot of Naruto is based on Hindu mythology and while yes I was a bit peeved there was little to no South Asian representation in Naruto, I will say that Kishimoto did a really good job of incorporating Hindu pantheon and culture to his world building

id say if it wasnt for the 4th great ninja war & boruto yes Naruto was amazing,
if we take naruto as a whole about 95% of the entire story was superb, i do enjoy that it ended exactly at 700 chapters it does mean that kishi had the actual plan laid out which is upsetting to think that Kagura and the Gods and such was always a thought and it was a pivot in a wrong direction, for the world of Ninja and Jutsu now being other worldly and Sci-Fi didnt end well, Kagura taking over Madaras body through Black Zetsu was a sham in itself and a lot of the war arc was just a mess, a lot of great action but it was so scattered and messy, Kishi couldve taken a page out of Hara's Kingdom when it came to such a high level war then you add in Naruto and Sasuke were just given hax end game even though they both were trining endlessly was a bore I wouldve much perferred if they just fought Madara at full health and beat him with his upgraded Senju dna no Sage of 6 Paths nonsense, all that power creeps cane for no real reason other than oh look were going to space now, then Sasukes aftermath was such horseshit the guy tried killing Sakura, Kakashi the Kages, he killed Danzo and openly went after Konoha he was on par with Pein when it came to being a true antagonist then he was openly welcomed back to Konoha, Sakura still chose him and then they had a whole storyline that Sarada couldve been Karin child and Sakura wasnt even sure of it. ugh boruto is fkn trash.
but real deaths actually happened through the storyline and a lot of the side characters had great moments especially Choji, more so the Sasuke Retrevial Arc was a complete masterpiece. I say anime wise Nartuo was a solid 9.6 and Shippuden was like a 8.2.

just remove sasuke from the remainder of the story from prior to fighting itachi and its a masterpiece better yet Itachi wins he takes his eyes and then he fights Pein and Madara in order to save Konoha and he doesnt come back to the village but lives a llie with Kisame being mercenaries for hire or something badass.
ill also never forgive kishi for making Hiruzen the strongest Hokage to be retconned and then become the weakest in the ninja war after being called The God of Shinobi and a Genius learning every single Hidden Leaf Jutsu.
Hiruzen vs Orochimaru is still heavily underrated til this day, same can be said for Tobirama he was also underutilized in the wararc.
