the only bright spot of the Knicks' season gone for the foreseeable future...

Harden looks like a shell of himself. They won't coast to the Finals
they still have KD who is still the same guy he was 10 yrs ago with an even more refined game, and I'm saying this as a Knicks fan that really hates the Nets. They'll be fine for the majority of the playoffs (except maybe Milwaukee), there isn't anyone else in the East besides the Bulls that can keep up with them offensively

I'd be more concerned with the Heat more than the Bulls come Playoff time when everything slows down and defense gets tighter. I see the Bulls just like the Knicks last season when they were rolling in the regular season, and then due to youth and inexperience, they collapse in the playoffs. The Heat have veteran guys who play and perform better in the post-season. But still Bucks are the bigger threat.

Curry is inconsistent, media just keeps loving him to praise him even on off days coz he made some 3s

Nets will be in finals , just watch it being true
You're right he's in a slump for atleast 2 weeks, since he's chasing history there's this narrative that he has MVP on lock.

Having said that, Curry is historically consistent. He's just in a slump, which shooters tend to go through once in a while. Warriors have lost 3 games the past couple of weeks because of it, I have no doubts he'll break out of it soon enough and when he does he's gonna start putting up video game numbers.

I hope Klay pulls up swinging. I'm not a GSW fan but I appreciate good basketball and I want to see Curry go ham in the playoffs. He can't be ballin like that entire season because he will be ghosting in PO ( happens many times in the past with players doing mad stuff in regular but ghosting post-season ).

Oh snap, didn’t realized we had this. :lumazed:

Thought WG only had soccer fans.

I think you will see Curry start pacing himself more late-season since I think they are a shoo-in for the playoffs. Warriors looking like a legit contender with Draymond back to almost DPOY level right now as well. I didn’t expect them to look this good after last season actually but their supporting cast got a lot better too.

yeah we've been here since 2019 XD

Curry btw is 7 3PM away from being the current recordholder for most 3s made in NBA History, he's either going to do it tonight or tmrw against the Knicks on MSG (already expecting him to go off against us tomorrow @Noyman )

I am also a New Yorker
Randles been disappointing this season imo, feel like he regressed after getting paid.

I feel like every team is selling out to defend Curry right now though so he doesn’t break the record on them.

Knicks are really close to the point where the FO (Leon Rose) has to decide whether we're gonna continue pursuing a potential play-in spot or start to commit to rebuilding (trading away Randle, Fournier, Noel, Robinson, etc)

I know people saw Randle play really well during last season (2020-21) but he was horrendous the year before (2019-20) where he would ice out teammates (like RJ Barrett) and only pass to certain teammates (like Elfrid Payton ew) while airballing every 3 point shot. This season he's regressed close but not as bad as his 2019-20 and this was after we gave him a 4 yr/117 M extension. It really feels now like he just stopped giving a shit after he got the bag

we also have one of the worst 3 point defenses in the entire NBA, it's practically a given that he goes off against us tmrw

The problem with the Knicks for basically a decade now is that management always want to push for a low playoff seed rather than do any rebuild. Its really really hard to compete in the league without any transcendent top 10 level players and the only way to do that is through draft or trade(even then that require draft picks usually).

I am not sure why, its not like they will ever lose money.

I think with Randle, its partially regression and partially last year was kinda fluky, dude randomly shot 40% on 3s when he never even had an average 3-point percentage shooting year before. He also looked like complete ass in the playoffs

the good is that the last 2 years ever since Leon Rose was hired in Feb 2020, we've done really well in the draft (Immanuel Quickley, Obi Toppin, Quentin Grimes with a career-high 27 in his first ever start, Miles McBride and Jericho Sims have all been productive when given the opportunity) and everyone on the team (including Randle) are on relatively short deals so anyone outside of the rookiers/sophomores on the team can be moved easily and we're not completely stuck in terms of cap money/luxury tax

the thing is, the entire of 2020 ever since the Pandemic where the 2019-20 season was suspended, Randle had been working with Thibs and several shooting coaches (along with RJ Barrett) the entire time (including the Bubble) on strictly his 3 point shot/free throws for several hours a day and last season (2020-21) it felt like his hard work had paid off but so far this season it's almost all gone (at least he isn't airballing 3s anymore). Didn't expect him to fall off this hard on the shooting (Barrett's still at a reasonable 35.3% this season from 3)

Oh absolutely, they have hit their draft picks well, in terms of production vs expectation of those pick positions. Just nothing like a Giannis/Jokic hit, which is honestly too much to ask for (Jokic was a fuxing second rounder). Unfortunately, theres just no one on the roster right now that I can see potentially developing into an do-it-all offensive player that can score and playmake at a high level ala Bron, Jokic, KD, etc., which is the most important piece of a championship team.

I wanted the Knicks to basically do a Sixers/OKC (the one that netted KD, Westbrick, and Harden, not the current one where they are just stashing second round picks for god knows what reason) for years, since thats really the best way to get one of those players (okay free agency but Knicks havent had much luck for a big-market team on that front years, still hurts me as a Semi-bron stan that he kept teasing that Knicks connection).

Also Thibs need to actually give young players some minutes ( I am still salty from bagholding Quickley last year for fantasy basketball).

Yeah, I generally just don’t trust single year numbers that much. I didn’t expect him to be this bad though, was thinking he would drop to mid-30s. Maybe thats where he ends up. My Knicks stan friend that drafted him second round for fantasy is cryin

Don’t worry, Thibs will pull out the quintuple-team defense on him. Draymonds gonna score 100 :gokulaugh:

Kemba's unplayable on defense and even if he is hot from 3, the defense immediately targets him to either post up or score on. And because Kemba is short by NBA standards at 6' he doesn't feel comfortable closing out on open 3 point shots and the opposing team scouting report picked up on that and exploit him on every play. So Thibs had to make a choice on whether to keep him on for his scoring knowing that the defense would get a good look whenever Kemba was on the floor and made a choice to bench him (he can still come back with minutes in the future though, and might happen sooner than later).

December 15 is gonna be an extremely important date for the Knicks & Leon Rose. We need a trade badly
You guys need a guard that can not get killed on defense while able to create his own shot on offense. Sounds like Dejounte Murray to me but the Spurs wouldn’t sell him for anything less than a first and a suitable replacement with the way Dejounte’s been playing.

Tbh the Knicks kinda need Kemba’s offense, they’ve been 2-6 without him. And Burks stinked against Toronto.

1-6 unfortunately (and about to be 1-7) even since we benched Kemba before the Brooklyn game, he did play briefly during the Hawks game so that win doesn't count for him being out of the rotation yet

D Rose is still doing his thing but we can't expect him to do everything for us for all 48 min to have a chance. IQ has been slightly better than last season but the 3 pt shot is bit streaky this season and is still a work in progress in terms of being a reliable passer so the PG position isn't errible

tbh we need a better center rn with Mitchell Robinson and Nerlens Noel being mediocre this season; And especially with Robinson since he'll be a FA after this season and will probably try to ask for the same numbers if not more than Robert Williams of the Celtics (4 yr/54M) which we will happily reject and show him out the door. Myles Turner would be nice on this team instead of the 2 Cs we have but I expect Indiana to ask a lot for us to get him (also as a rival team that we still don't like will make negotiations difficult); If they ask for Obi or IQ, we probably hang up the phone immediately

Y'all gonna be watching the Warriors vs Knicks game tonight? I wish I could be there myself in-person to see Curry break the record. The stadium would go wild when it happens.
Better that it happens in Garden he scored his previous career high there and its nationally televised, nobody was watching their last game with the lowly Pacers. So it only makes sense to tune in to the Knicks game.
