That was almost a choke job, lol. Melo missed a wide open corner 3 and LeVert almost made that shot at the buzzer. He probably should have drove to the basket against CJ and maybe pass to a shooter if help came but it was a decent shot. Good on POR for surviving but they don’t give me confidence that they’ll give LA a scare granted they should beat MEM first. Their bigs won’t dominate LA’s bigs, especially AD and no one on that team is stopping LeBron.
still this is honestly one of the best games this season (and arguably one of the best games I've watched down to the wire), and especially in the bubble

gonna be rooting for the Grizzlies to whoop the Blazers though they probably don't have the firepower to deal with Lillard

Levert should attacked the rim instead of going for a stepback imo but the Nets (especially LeVert) should be proud of how they played
He was eating Portland at the rim lol. For as good as Portland’s offense is, their defense is pretty poor. They really lack a solid wing defender and that’s gonna come back to bite them if they face the Lakers with no reliable body on Lebron.

that's precisely the reason why imo I haven't considered them as true contenders, at least since Batum/Matthews/Aldridge/Lopez left the Blazers haven't been a great defensive team at all. If they're gonna win some game against the Lakers, they're gonna have to outscore AD and LeBron

There were stakes for POR and they almost bottled it so it made the game more dramatic. I heard from POR fans they’re the anti-Warriors when it comes to 3rd qtrs, lol. They come out flat in almost every 3rd qtrs.

His driving is his strength and it looked like the D was spread from shooters so he could’ve attacked it if he wanted.

Yeah dude. POR is such a weird team to me. I’ve always had low expectations for them in the last couple of years. I was wrong on them last year but I was right on them the year before that when lost to the Pels even though they were 3rd seed. Basically, Rondo and Holiday would neutralize Dame & CJ and they would have no answer for AD and thats exactly what happened. This year, I saw the same thing if they’d faced LAL, especially if Rondo and Bradley were playing and they wouldn’t stop AD AND LeBron.

They’re even worse than where they were last year, with no Harkless and Aminu, when your best options on defense are Trent jr and Collins, you’re not really standing a chance against the Lakers and the Lakers’ defense can find a way to slow Lillard down, especially if they go with AD at center and trap the pick/roll.

At the very least tho this yr having Melo at SF instead of Bazemore/Tolliver basically saved the Blazers' season lol, they've sucked at the SF position for so many seasons prior

Also we might have a Melo VS LeBron rematch dating back to 2012 (Knicks got raped by the Heat that series especially with no Lin 😢), except this time JR is with LeBron
