Who will be the Next Strawhat?

To be fair, that's mostly because of the bloated cast of side characters. One more strawhat wouldn't have taken up a fraction of the panel time the scabbards and Otama did in Wano.
The cast of side characters is only going to get more bloated as we approach the end of the story. Especially since we're gonna have a shit ton of plot points and characters that will finally need to be focused on and addressed. I just don't see the time or space for another SH anymore. :few:

No, Oda be like:
:gonope: New SH
:goyea: More extras
>Introduce 5 billion new extras in every arc
>They barely get any screentime due to the sheer amount there are, and actively detract from fleshing out the SHs
>Barely impact the story due to them being fodder (see: scabbards)
>Never appear again except for brief cameos after the arc is over
Truly a peak Oda moment :lulz:

Well characters like Kiku got a shit ton of screen time for no reason.

But giving it to SHs is kinda pointless at this point. I mean i think you will legit get character fatigue, like i apreciate ma boi Franky but having an whole arc based around him? I'm not sure, it would be that interesting, if you really wanna make it fair and balanced, what you need to do is take screen time away from Luffy.

Also people want new SHs for the novelty factor and for narrative reasons. I want 13 for instance because i think it's been hinted, most people think it's 10 because of BB.

That's right, another strawhat won't really make much of a difference so there's no point in adding one. Those panels can instead be used on more important things pertaining to the endgame.
I meant it won't make much of a difference in the panel time the other strawhats get. You said it's good no one joined because the strawhats already don't get enough panel time. I'm saying another strawhat wouldn't result in less panel time for the others. The solution is fewer side characters, not fewer strawhats.

Yes, a solution of fewer side characters would give the SHs more screen time. But I’m saying that there won’t be fewer side characters but rather complete opposite especially since we’re approaching the final war and so many characters will need to come back into the story and have their plot points resolved i.e. (the World Government, Revolutionaries, Blackbeard Pirates, the worst generation, the Wano cast, Zuneshia, Rocks, Imu, Grand Fleet, etc.).

Adding another SH would give the neglected SH members even less panel time than they otherwise would have gotten and should be getting especially since this is the Saga where the they would actually be achieving their dreams and every panel time with them in it will be important.

I wanted another SH for the longest time but I just don’t think it makes sense anymore especially this late into the story where panel time has never been more important. So I’ve made peace with it and moved on.
