Role Madness NieR: Automata Mafia Game Thread [Game State: Game End - Indie Victory]

Pot Goblin

Conejo Blanco
Basically if you're a townie with the ability to see a mafia's tracking and watching history simultaneously, you might as well well have their IP address and social security number. In practice, it might not always give you a full solve, but there's a very real chance that it could. There's basically no counterplay either - let's say you're a team mate and you protected said person 3 nights ago. You're fucked. Depending on what said mafia flips, you can see and clear every person they have ever targeted either maliciously or have tried to benefit, and it's really not too hard to piece that together with claims. Oh, and Pot claims this is tied to an execution, so said mafia can die at half votes required normally.

This makes no sense for a town role. Technically he's not always guaranteed to hit scum but if he does it breaks the game wide open. Much more likely he's scum/indi and using it as a bargaining chip. When you're informed, this isn't really that game breaking of an ability. You are punished by lack of info if you use it quickly, and if you use it late you'll get a lot of info but by that point in the game you will have gotten a lot of claims anyway
It's literally too good to be true.
Probably why Ekko designed it this way tbh

...wait what? it watches and tracks all previous nights too?? that's p borken yeah

BUT

if he's scum then he's probably claiming his fake role right? are the fakeclaims we know of (eve PB lemon) this broken? and if so that prob means we just keep voting off the ppl with the most borken roles
Good point, but I would assume Pot would be going off script here a bit. His provided fake claim probably doesn't encourage claiming this to the letter as he has. But it also might not have anything good enough to allow him to survive, so he has to reach into his goodie bag so to speak

Fake claims are typically serviceable but rarely hard clearing. Especially if the player in question has not properly prepared themselves to claim usage and such

Because if I execute someone not aligned with Yorha I get a report that tells me everyone that visited them and everyone they visited in the game

If I use it day 1 I don't get any info from that
The fact that this role includes a clause, but that it's specifically for 1/2 of town and not scum, also means that the host out this in for balancing, but against hitting half of town instead of scum lmao

I mean, 2B is the MC. MC roles in Ekko games are pretty busted like the Avatar role with the many public abilities or the Yuji role which could have converted the SK to Town.

So if it’s fake that might just be how it’s written.

It‘s like mine in that regard. If I hit a Machine Lifeform player and kill them I die as well.

There are three similarities our roles have:

1) A day kill
2) Punished for using it against our alignment
3) Receives smth from the killed target if it isn’t aligned with us.

Might just be enough to call it a dichotomy Idk.

No that's how I'd expect it to be written if it's a real (scum) claim, specifically for this reason

If it's a fake (as in, Ekko wrote it as the scum ability without changing anything) it would be pretty short sighted of him. Most likely, I think he would omit the executioner portion of the claim from a fake town sheet, and this is what Pot Goblin is choosing to claim because he doesn't have a good alibi for his night actions.

i mean, to be fair, i lied about the "not working on machines" part of my role. i get my shot refunded if i kill someone who is not machine
Why would I claim when one person asks me to? Especially if that person's you lol
would u claim if 2 players asked u to claim?

can u claim?

Executing a townie and receiving information is not even really a punishment though, it's just not as good. You could still even catch a role cop or role blocker something

i also get punished for shooting machine lifeforms btw. i lied about it "not working on machines" to scare mafia boo hoo

if anyone cares that's why i was pushing "yorha = mafia" and "mafia lives among yorha" cuz then even if i was wrong i'd still get my shot refunded. plus i thought my role was rewarding me for using it on scum by giving me my shot back
