I've seen people complaining about the price of the Switch 2 console itself, but iirc isn't it actually lower than stuff like the PS5 price?
PS5 was 500 USD if I recall correctly. Switch 2 is 450, or 500 with MKW.
I don't mind the price of the console imo, it's just the games are ridiculously high. I don't even really see games as marvelous as Bananza being 50 bucks but that should be the most you need to pay for any game IMO.
Problem is Nintendo was always way cheaper than their counterparts previously and that’s why people were cool with the less powerful systems.

Ever since the Wii, Nintendos been about 200 dollars cheaper than Microsoft and Sony consoles. With Wii, WiiU, and Switch all launching at around 299. And the Switch 2 genuinely doesn’t seem like it’s upgraded enough to warrant a 50% increase especially not when PS5 and XBox series X are pretty close to it price wise.

Just feels greedy

Imagine what Nintendo developers would be able to do on PC

Nintendo devs made Breath of the Wild for 19 year old hardware dude

I don't get it though, why does wages keeping up with inflation have to mean that inflation would be virtually nonexistent? Do you mean that it would be cancelled out so it would be as if it didn't exist?
Yes, the value of products & services is continually in flux, which in turn affects wages. Most of the time, the two increase in tandem, so that a certain good costing more is nullified by you earning more: the same capital remains within the market, because you'd buy the good both at its x price & afterward at the x+n price, with n being easily compensated by your raise.
When one side of the market increases unevenly, you either have an economic boom, where wages are higher with prices stagnant or in decrease, or, like we're experiencing right now, prices are growing while wages lag behind, meaning that people can acquire fewer goods & services, thus less capital re-enters the market, thus the prices increase further to maintain a profit with fewer sold units. Ideally, a state intervention would freeze prices where raising wages is impractical, but statecraft has been lacking in the West, so instead we get poorer while companies like Nintendo have us pay more for less.

Not to get too much into politics but I'm more so on the ideally we form strong unions opinion, if you want to we could talk about it in the general political section

It depends.
The Switch 2 is proven to be PS4 Pro+ level in total performance since it comes close to Series S in performance in games which support DLSS.

So the thing is, is there a cheaper handheld with better hardware on the current market? I don't think so. I think a portable 9W to 20W PS4 Pro+ console is worth the price, considering it makes no heating noise and is easily portable and has a seamless connection to the TV when docked.

Maybe $400 would be a better start but I also get $449.

Idk man, playing current AAA games on a 9W portable 7'9 inch screen, which is also thin af and weights approximately 500g, with around 50 - 80% of Series S performance makes the Switch 2 a rather powerful handheld compared to the previous Nintendo handhelds.

The Gameboy, GBA, DS and 3DS - those were great handhelds but they were quite weak. But now that they combined handheld and home console, their hybrid console model needs to have more power to run Nintendo IPs as well.

Nintendo definitely chose a cheap option for the battery tho. Nintendrones can say whatever they want but I'm sure Nintendo already has some upgraded units ready. Heck, the Switch 2 doesn't support VRR in docked mode even though the dock itself supports VRR. This is definitely just some Nintendo greed move.

As for Switch 2 OLED, I'm not sure if we get this again so soon since I read OLED screen and VRR do not sync that well together and considering the handheld market grows significantly with all the PC handhelds and both Sony and Microsoft developing their own handheld, I believe it isn't that unlikely they might even create their New Switch 2 which is 2x stronger than the "base model."
I've read the recent PS handheld leaks about the Canis and that thing is a freaking beast, apparently in a similar price range like the Switch 2.

Sulong Bepo was far too peak.
about online emulators

they don't have most popular games on them right? like, there's no pokemon games other that stadium i believe
Yeah barely including any games indeed.
But what would you think if instead of a big Mario game we got DK Bananza and a new big 3d Yoshi game?
I am extremely happy over Bananza, I couldn't be happier, I need to save up for a Switch 2 and PLAY IT ASAP! I'm dying to play that game, it looks PHENOMENALLY GOOD, FULL OF WODNER and FUN as games should be! It's peak Nintendo/Nintendo at some of their best genuinely!

Yoshi deserves a proper 3D game but idk if it will ever happen, its just too expensive and too much of a risk I guess? But he's always been so loyal and even "self sacrificing" to Mario and co (referring to how you "sacrificed Yoshi" to jump certain gaps in Super Mario World or w/e lol) and I genuinely think it could be IMMENSELY fun if done. So much potential for creativity, like a pseudo Kirby meets Banjo Kazooie/Yooka Laylee type experience too. Super Mario 64 DS had Yoshi as playable, along with WAH-rio and Luigi ofc and that was such a fantastic, welcome addition that really freshened up the game and gave opportunities we needed and so did those 3 too.

Mario hasn't had a proper new 3D game since 2017, I'm sorry but that is RIDICULOUS! I see why Mario fans are upset over it now. And this insulting what $80 for both Galaxy 1 and 2 Remasters for the 40th anniversary of Mario? Gee thanks Nintendo but hey, at least its not the same unforgivabl shittiness as they did with the 3D All Stars Collection, which you would think pissed off the World Government/Imu in One Piece given how it was erased out of existence! /s.

Seriously though, Mario is majorly overdue a proper new 3D game and I am certain one is coming, I'm disappointed it's not a launch title for Switch 2 but Wii U also didn't get a Mario launch title/exclusive, New Super Mario Bros barely counts too.

We need a new Smash Bros at some point and a new 3D proper Mario game. I'm still praying Mario 64 and Ocarina of Time will get faithful, proper, complete etc remakes in future on modern consoles and not with awkward as hell controls like the DS and 3DS equivalents of them BUT given Nintendo doesn't seem to care for remaking them still, but will gladly shut down all fan emakes of them and mods, I've just given up in that regard now.

Mario 64 will be 30 years old next year. Ocarina of Time will be 27. I don't expect Nintendo to do anything for in regards for Mario 64's 30th, maybe an overpriced "remaster" if we're lucky and same for OOT in 3 years time I guess? LMFAO.

But we'll probably get Nintendo bringing back the Power Glove or some other forgotten, ridiculous gimmick they had a long time ago, that should have stayed dead and buried in the past too.

Ironically Nintendo is embracing nostalgia so hard right but brutally neglects some of its beloved IPs and some of its most famous , beloved and succesful games that really put them on the map too.

But then again, Nintendo has been around for 135 years or so now, so they clearly know what they're doing and thus know best I guess? /s.
