General & Others No one is weak against swords however most characters are susceptible to swords not “weak against”

I think people just don’t understand what the term weakness means.

In comics, often weakness just means their powers don’t protect you from it and makes you a normal man it doesn’t mean you take double damage from it.

For example:
Bondage for Wonder Woman - It doesn’t kill her just takes her invulnerability away
Color Yellow for Green Lantern - it doesn’t kill them just their power rings and constructs couldn’t defend from it
Magic for Superman - It doesn’t do double damage to it he just has no natural invulnerability to it.

This is what cutting and piercing attacks are to luffy. It’s a weakness as he has no natural protection against them. It’s not like sea water tho

nope...fire "nullifies" Kuzan attacks..fire vs water is a "natural" enemy..it is not weakness, it is counter...weakness means rendering user not able to do anything when he was hit with that weakness....weakness should make that user take more damage than the non weakness user should take in the same situation....seastone is "weakness" of every DF user..tell me do "swords" do the same thing that "seastones" do to Luffy?
Do you even understand what you say. So something that nullifies another character isn't a weakness to that character? Like you even brought up seastone which nullifies df when in contact as a weakness. Weakness is anything naturally offsets the advantages you have. Y'all are thinking this is like Pokemon or something where if you are hit with the right element it does more damage. This is op by your definition of weakness no character has a weakness because no character takes more damage because they are hit by something. Show once a character taking more damage than anyone else would because they are attacked by something. Even seastone doesn't make people take more damage as they take the same damage anyone else would just that seastone takes away your df advantage.

Swords or cutting attacks naturally take away luffy's durability boost he gained from his df. This is why they are luffy's weakness. Weakness off set your advantage just like kuzan with fire, ace or sabo with water, enel with rubber, etc. They are weaknesses to these characters because of their abilities because of set when their weaknesses are introduced. Well I guess nullifying something isn't a weakness to you tho.

Nope, fire is not weakness as it didn't make Kuzan vulnerable. It just nullified his attack.

If taking damage is being weak to certain thing, then everyone who takes damage from certian thing is weak to that.
Sea stones makes DF users practically useless and that is the WEAKNSSS means. Of course, Luffy is not immune to cuts and hence they use WEAK in a sense that he is susceptible to damage from sharp objects.
Fire off sets kuzan entire fighting style and even takes away his logia body? How is fire not a weakness when by your words it nullifies him. I think being nullified is a pretty big weakness seeing as kuzan fights primarily with his df.

I hope to see Gear 5 defeated like Netero (HxH) without arms and legs. And then regrow his limbs with his awakened gomu gomu no mi as if nothing happened. Like in Toriko but instead of taking months it would take seconds.

I think they very well understand what « weakness » means, is just that they see « Luffy is weak to sword attack » and they read « Zoro > Luffy ». And then, their brain freeze :kayneshrug:

Agree the correct translation would be susceptible to not weak but will all understand it's not an absolute weakness (he takes more damage) but a relative one (he takes more damage than blunt force)
Let them Copé if they thinks he takes more damage
