Look at the success of his mentor Toriyama or the success of peers like Togashi and tell me how the art needs work.

Art has technical and subjective aspects. The things you don't like make neither of them bad, at the very least not with an isolated example. Zoro vs King looks nothing like this fight, for example, and many other fights have many other unique angles and layouts.

There is a vast difference between those because price and nutritional value are objective measures. One Piece doesn't cost less, demand less work effort to create, or have different "ingredients" so that comparison doesn't fit.

There are objective measures in story telling. Consistency of plot, character consistency, quality of character development, lore consistency, quality of world building, quality of fight choreography etc. etc.
