Chapter 1000 right? Where Oda said rooftop was pressured by his editors ?
I agree that between 990 to 1000, we all felt oda was dragging to make it the 1000th special.
But he did and by what he said, 1000th is indeed a special chapter since he put lots of works.

It's not like oda said 1000th wasn't true and not his work right?? Now it happened, what we gonna do ? Erase it from our minds ?

Somehow it's very sad to hear, the fact he didn't care about chapter 1000 milestone and needed someone to suggest doing something special for it. Almost like he's too tired or uninterested to think about it.

He didn't say rooftop events weren't his idea, by the way, he only said it wasn't his idea to make chapter 1000 special. Chapter 1000 events weren't supposed to occur specifically in this chapter, that's all. He never implied anything that happened in the story wasn't his idea.

I never understood that either

I honestly expected zoro to fight king, learn kinemon's fire cutting technique, then cut kaido

The other way around just seems messed up, it's not bad, it just feels unnatural with the usual story progression

And I get why some people don't like the king fight, although it's cool it just feels weird because we just saw zoro fight 2 top tiers

To be honest ,I am not going to lie; Oda is capping . He wants to sound uninterested and make it seem trivial to him,yet he is the same guy ,that had the grand fleet ceremony be in the exact 800th chapter and the same guy,who on 900th chapter had mama chanter "eviscerate" Sunny.

Pure bullshit that he didn't care for 1000.

Don't misinterpret what he's saying for your agenda. He never once said he changed the flow of story or plot for it.

Imagine being so salty and in denial about something you have to create fake shit to make it feel less real.

He seems to be saying the opposite actually. That he did his best to give us something special for that chapter, but in the end he's not going to drastically change the story due to outside factors.

It is similar to that meme when you have to do something dirty to get some bucks. This comment from Oda is just from the moment when you have spent all of that money, and guilt starts to haunt you.
Nothing that serious, but it is huge for those who follow the manga industry seriously and use Oda as inspiration.
Or, maybe I am finding another reason to hate on Oda because I hated those chapters (Tama and Gifters) :suresure:

Nothing was rushed. Even if it was not rushed, it would have been even worse.
