- Thanks to Sandman translation :

Oda told watsuki that Zoro would become a one-eyed character in the future but when he asked for th reason it's interesting how important this to Oda to the point he didn't want to answer and left it unknown even for watsuki who helped him in his young age .
the point i want to say is :
He doesn't answer his question for some reason. Couldn't he have said "It's nothing important he just lost it in practice" or something like that. but not while some fans say it's nothing important and it's nothing :risitasad::risitavirus:

@MarineHQ62 @ShishioIsBack @HA001 @nik87 @Zowo @Aknolagon @Cinera @style @Light D Lamperouge etc etc ................

His eye power is broken af and it will be removed due to an actual injury.
Cant have Zoro be that much broken. He will trade broken power for a cool eye-patch.:myman:
I mean I would be quite more than just a tad disappointed if Zoro didn't unlock a new superpower during the TS. Luffy did with G4. Asura is certainly a treat to our eyes but despite it being beautiful I totally expect Zoro to have gone further, for example by unlocking a new mode which could be the very supposed eye power.

Man I’ll never forget back in the day when the timeskip happened in the manga, when I saw Zoro with that scar over his eye, I don’t know why but I was like this is literally the coolest thing ever, I kinda like how he doesn’t have an eye there for me I just feel like he lost it, but then training with one eye made him get used to it and that it makes him rely on his senses just a little bit more, obviously your field of vision would be cut down but I always thought and still do thing that it’s the one of the best changes in designs for a Starw hats. You see the scar over the eye on a lot of anime characters, sometimes it looks off or misplaced but Zoro wears it so well and the fact that nobody really mentions it other than the fisherman at Sabody when describing Zoro to Sanji makes it seem more ominous, and then when Sanji sees Zoro he doesn’t say anything. To me that’s just so cool, like a sort of respect, like yeah he has one eye , yeah it’s a big deal, but we don’t talk about it.

For me, personally if he does have an eye power that would be kinda lame and cheap. Let it just be a cool looking scar for me lol like this isn’t Naruto where eyes literally have powers lol I don’t see what having an “eye” power would bring to the table for Zoro a physical fighter, anything in terms or reading an enemies moves or sensing them or seeing their aura are all part of things like haki.

This Interview basically confirms that there is a meaning for Zoro's Lost Eye & it's most probably Story related & not just some random Character Design choice

Interesting Part is that for some reason Oda decided that "Most" Endgame Characters have something with their Eye:

Shanks, Luffy, Zoro, Kid, Rayleigh, Garp, Smoker, Sabo all have Eye Scar
While Dragon have a Tattoo & Mihawk have strange Eyes hence why he is called "Hawk-Eyes"
Fujitora have Eyes Scars too & is Blind ... etc

What if Im-Sama have a Hax Ability that allows him to "Control" people but the method to Counter it lies in the Eyes
What if in Final Arc, when Im-Sama reveals himself & his Hax Ability that allowed him to sit on the Empty Throne & rule, those Characters will be the only one who can resist his Hax & could oppose him

I don't think it's a coincidence that Luffy & Zoro (Main Duo), Kid (Best Supernova/Rival), Dragon & Sabo (Leaders of Revos), Garp, Smoker & Fujitora (Good High Ranked Marines) & Shanks all have an Eye Scar, it's so Convenient (Not to mention that they are 9 !!)

I think these are destined to stand against Im-Sama in Final Battle & can resist his Hax

I made a theory like two days ago that his power would be mind control or something like that and im will use mind control on like dragon shanks or kidd for then final fight eos

In an SBS, Oda attributed Zoro's eye to "the intensity of his training" and never gave any details on what that means.

In this recent interview, Oda reveals this was a story plan from like the very start of the manga. And whats interesting is that it wasnt simply a thing he wanted Zoro to have, he wanted it to come later on in the story somehow.

Here Oda is asked why this happened and he doesnt answer. Its intentionally a mystery.

For those who want the best breakdown of this as a working theory. Here it is.

It’s interesting that it’s been so long in the making. I don’t think it means there’s any special eye powers involved, but I do think it backs up the idea that there’s a story behind the eye being cut that we’ll learn some day.
What a shitty interview. Like none of that lines up or makes sense with what we know. Oda is pushing 50, for one thing, and he said that to a mangala who's actually older than him.
Eh? He’s 46, probably 45 when the interview was made, and saying he doesn’t think he should be doing weekly manga to a guy who stopped doing weekly manga in his thirties. How’s that not add up?

How does it not add up? Because if he's already five or six years past what he says, FORTY, then that doesn't make sense. Unless it's a translation goof and they mean fifty.

Also, Watsuki is still doing serialized manga at fifty so it's ultimately a weird thing to tell him.

Of course it makes sense. You never heard someone say “I’m too old for this shit” either jokingly or seriously? That’s basically what Oda’s saying here.

He’s doing monthly, which is a lot less pressure.

Also we don’t know the context of the question, which is important. They could be asking how Oda’s kept doing weekly so long and him saying “i know, i should give it up, this is a young mans game.”
