Hawkins is so forgettable that I consistently forget that he is supposed to be dead.
This is why killing off characters for the sake of trimming off the metaphorical fat doesn't work narratively. Nobody cares about these characters so their deaths have little to no impact.
If nobody cares that they're alive then they certainly not going to care about them being dead.

oda said he planned for most of them to drop out and they did, capone is returning back, bonney has no crew anymore, hawkins is dead, drake isn't even a pirate and that information fell on apoo's hands who is famous for being a snitch, kid, killer and law go without saying.
