Zoro was not yet able (did not want) to pour a large amount of khaki into the blades on his own. In the rooftop fight, he let Enma pull the kaki out of him. Note that only enma was with a lot of haki, In a fight with King, he realized what the blade wanted from him (not to restrain his haki) . And he has already covered all the swords by himself, changing haki to green. The whole point of enma is to teach him this, he didn't know how to do it on the roofs yet because he was afraid of dying.
