Well useless is a bit black and white and being unfair to Killer, to rephrase, Zoro wouldn't have a method for damaging Kaido if it weren't for Enma.
Killer had the workaround of sonar damage, but was impressed by Zoro's newfound barrier ryuo, gained solely by the addition of Enma.

I’d be surprised if Luffy doesn’t come out with a new and far more effective ability than Gear 4th. G4 has run its due course and it’s still got the same damn drawback since Dressrosa. After Luffy was spamming that at almost every turn during the beginning of the raid, he gave you the impression that he minimized the drawback somewhat. But it turns out that he didn’t and G4 wasn’t going to be enough for Kaido anyway, now that Luffy still passes out mid battle its ineffective to get the job done if not borderline worthless.

Not debatable at all he used 3 sword style.
He never said 2 swords didn't work and in fishman island when he used the same move the fishmens steel Shields had 1 slice across them not 3.
