Reality only makes it worse
Zoro has already weaken Kaido. He now has a permanent scar and we saw after he was injured by Zoro he was huffing and shaking. The first time we've seen that.
Kaido's skin will be just as durable regardless if he's at 100% or if he's at 10%. Luffy damaging Kaido's insides won't make a difference when it comes to cutting his head off because his skin will be just as hard and durable.
Why would Kaido be in his dragon form? It could be because he's leaving, flying away, to gather his energy before returning. Or he sees Wano as a loss and wants to destroy it before he leaves. It's easier to do that in his dragon form.
It's true, Zoro could get more injured but this is where his haki training comes into play. If you look at his Wano training it focuses on producing more powerful attacks by using more haki and less physical strength. That's what he did when he cut the tree. Thanks to his large and powerful haki he was able to cut a cliff only using the physically strength needed to cut a tree. A weaken and injured Zoro would force him to further improve haki skills and master enma. Oda has perfectly set that up. The other benefit of fighting King is it could help him improve his CoC if King has it and they clash with it.
I believe to kill Kaido large and powerful haki must be combined with adv CoC attacks. That explains to us why Oden was able to scar Kaido in one hit but not kill him. Oden was not using enough haki. That also explains why Big Mom and Kaido were concerned of Zoro flying dragon blaze attack. It had enough power to scar Kaido but not kill him with one hit.

One of them will most likely lose to Sanji lmao no one will team up against them imagine Fujitora who needed Greenbull to extreme diff Sabo and his 3 subordinates beating 9 advanced armament users including two sulong dukes without going all out (Kaido was in base) then beating current Luffy without even showing awakening
