every devil fruit is special because every devil fruit has its own properties....but if we compare with other devil fruits like magma, ice, fire, blackbeard fruit, quake, even sugar fruit, gomu gomu is a mediocre......it would be stupid if anyone thinks that gomu is extra special because WG had it....if there is someother df, even then WG will keep it with them...

its def more special than you think if its left in the hands of a cp operative and they are imprisoned for giving it away
you also have to question why oda would bring this up now if it was simply mediocre.

Well WG gave Kaku a giraffe df, Kaliffa that bubble df. Crocodile and Lucci made a point that df's can be trained, BB is the only outlier in the world in that aspect.

Df is just a df. Just because someone special in the past used it won't make it more special than ope ope no mi, magma or any other hax fruitz. G2, G3, G4 didn't come because of joyboy or roger. And who told you that it was used by joyboy or Roger? If you look bluntly, every df is special. World government at any cost will have it with them irrespective of gomu gomu no mi or any other akuma no mi. I am perplexed how it undermines Luffy.
