i fully expect roger to have mastered all forms of advanced haki and actually be fast enough to dodge top tier attacks using future sight (unlike luffy :/) if he was overwhelming/matching the other top tiers without a devil fruit.

That's my point too. But also along with that, Roger may still have had an ability that Oda is still hiding from us and will show in the future. Aside from that, the only explanation could be that Roger's CoC was just that superior to WB's, which I don't buy tbh but let's see.

Until it was revealed that this no touching clash is advCoA I thought it's Gura effect because you can spot the crack in the middle between the gap from the weapons.
Yeah, it may be Shanks' and Roger's ability. That's what I think too. Because CoC coating ain't actually Adv CoC. There must be a separate Adv CoC too.
