Come on. Normal humans like Sanji and Zoro can dive underwater even they don't have gomu gomu. Pardon me but when did even Luffy did anything underwater without someone saving him whenever he drowns? and where it was mentioned about what you said? also forgot that Luffy got immunity to lightening due to gomu gomu but latest fight with Bigmom and Kaidou indicated that others also had immunity to lightening even without it.

During the fishman island arc when Luffy had to fight Hody and go outside the air bubble.

1st the swords are legendary grade swords that are nearly unbreakable

2nd his haki

3rd his strength

Remove one these factors and zoro would've died
