Character got introduced out of the blue seventy (70) chapters into the arc, when the battle phase already started, without any proper set-up in a series known by its setting up/hinting/foreshadowing. Said character immediately became an ally, no struggle to get her, become central and is doing what nobody else in the raid doing : Stalling the strongest character in the series for a dozen of chapters. Also happens to be connected to Luffy's brother to give her cheap sympathy points, stuff that was already by Tama so it's even more lazy this time:specialmeh:
There's also the constant Oden wanking and cosplaying half the time she opens her mouth that is very annoying.
Basically Yamato feels like an intruder to me that has no business being part of the epic battle against Kaido with Luffy.

First, she was a nobody before she knew oden.
All of her goals are borrowed from oden
She is a poorly written nami, even their goals are simillar.
-wait 20 years/collect 100 million
-free wano/village
-go out to sea and get stronger.

But nami at least has something more: she wants to draw a world map.

And yamato is the one with CoC?

Zoro's character is the least elaborated... we don;t know his past, parents, anything... just getting action and only action from a character doesn't make him above other characters who have less actions

The thing i always wanted from zoro was his past and a little but more different expressions.. though i like the way he is but a little more diverse would make him much more better believe me...

sanji is my more fav. and its all because of WWI arc... dude we got so much about sanji and after rewatching the show and all i just think he is the most elaborated guy in the crew after luffy... and the fact sanji got a whole arc about him i always knew the other guy left aside is zoro and he will get something like this too....

I was talking about sanji character here actually.... zoro character is pretty ordinary....

But what i meant is sanji is still so strong and we never got all out sanji since time skip cause sanji is not always fighting and giving action... but at times of need oda will put sanji where he actually stands..

We need to see the constant progress of zoro cause thats the main thing about him.. getting stronger and stronger and becoming a beast who will be known as strongest swords man and stuff where as sanji doesn't have a dream like this... he is a normal kind guy who likes cooking and loving womens hehe

This right here is a true sanji fan.... Sanji fans actually have a huge W because sanji is a cook yet in monster trio... Sanji speciality is cooking food ... most of sanji fans just want him stronger and take L in powerscaling not realizing the true meaning of a character...
zoro does so much just to be above sanji... thats a huge W right there... dude respresent many of guys here in manga by his pervy gag.... breaking 4th wall...

When I see a guy trying to jump off of a skyscraper, I don't need to see what's going to happen next in order to know that he's going to die.

When you have a "bad" character motivation then the character itself is poorly written. Yamato might change, and she will probably change in the future, but that will not change her as a character because the "core" principle of her character must remain in tact, otherwise it would be another character.
