The chapter was really good, but I'm still waiting to see if the Viz will be more similar in translation or a bit different.

All I really want to focus on is the fact that the "CP0 Boss" gave Drake a bit of hype despite having defeated him. (It's a tiny reward in return for Drake's showing in this arc, but it's not over yet.) The guy is winded and visibly bloodied as well so I'm beginning to now think that the CP0 Member in question who fought Drake might actually be closer in strength to him instead of a good distance above him like I was previously leaning towards jusy based on the summary.

It still sucks that Drake is currently down, but I still feel like he will get back up himself or after some aid to fulfill his promise to Luffy to some degree. What was the point of having Drake make promises to Luffy and Zoro if he doesn't deliver??

Time is winding down for the CP0 and now they are the ones who need to wrap things up and leave as quickly as possible. I do wonder if they will set aside some of the little time they have left to take down Apoo and at least get the pictures back unless it's not something they care about any longer?

It does seem as though they are a bit more concerned about capturing Robin. Cipher Pol really are at it again.

King is really giving off some Zoro vibes and I like that a lot. He doesn't seem like a bad dude, just got dealt a shitty hand and decided to deal with it in thr best way that he could. I really hope we see him again on his own in a Cover Story of something.

Usopp had a really cool speech this chapter. He's always been likeable so it's great to see him acknowledged by a well known pirate like Izo.

Kid and Law versus Big Mom is ... interesting. I'm still on the fence about them actually beating her or not, and while I know Luffy said he was gonna beat Kaido, Orchid, Big Mom, and their subordinates, it doesn't look too likely at this point since he's in what is literally a battle to the death if we remember Kaido's words from much earlier on when they were fighting 1v1.

Scabbards are down (minus Izo). Sanji is down. Zoro is down. Who is going to tend to Zoro is what I want to know. He is literally by himself right now. I can't remember who is the closest to him atm, but he will definitely need medical attention and soon.

Brook and Robin are still running I assume and the fires have never stopped burning. Even if Onigashima is stopped from crashing and Kazenbo is put on some major ice, who's going to stop all thr rest of the fires???

As always, Oda leaves us with more questions than answers. 4/5 for me!

I think Rocks might've been a bigger source of such info for him and maybe he was also the one who misguided Kaido into thinking that he was Joyboy.
It surely wasn't Rocks; WB was clueless about these details before Roger told him while Kaido apparently knew about JoyBoy even before Roger became the Pirate King. The legend of JoyBoy was probably a common folk tale among the Lunarians.

Btw no one can beat the cp0 among the one remaining appart for jimbei, marco and yamato. I wonder if they'll get beaten this arc :zorothink:
They're thinking about getting away ASAP if the Yonko loses. If they unite with Lucci and try to capture Big Mom or Kaido, then they'll probably have to face Yamato and the remaining BM Pirates.

What Kin and Kiku are doing is effectively harakiri, suicide to prove your loyalty and restore your honor in the face of failure or humiliation. What Zoro was told to do at the beginning of Wano. Usopp is a coward but he's also a survivalist, he's never fallen so low to see suicide as preferable to living on with adversity or shame like these samurai who have purposely sought to kill themselves in the name of Oden. That's not the brave warrior Usopp wants to become. It's then very fitting that Izo, the retainer who has spent the most time outside of Wano's borders, but at the same time bore the Kozuki emblem on his back this entire time, sides with Usopp and bridges the gap between samurai and foreigner.
The same guy also said that Kaido might have captured Wano to force the real joyboy to rescue it so that he can meet him and see what he was missing. Honestly, after all this, I see Kaido killing himself as one of the realistic outcomes of the battle.
Whilie I usually like Oda's anti-suicide stance, with this Ussop scene he drove it up to eleven and it didn't make Usopp look good. I mean, there is a vast gray area between ''killing yourself because you lost'' and ''being a complete bitch and whining 24/7 while really just being shit scared of death''.

good juxtaposition with king and zoro's promise
difference being
one has his own individual dream
while the other is mainly to support another's
The parallel between Kaido/King and Luffy/Zoro was awesome
Another difference are their resolves. While Zoro's goal was to become wss and make Luffy pk in the process, King had long given up on Kaido being the one he wanted him to be.
As we saw in the last chapter, King was desperately waiting for someone to change the world. While he was waiting for Joyboy (and definitely knows a lot about void century lore) by the time of this chapter's flashback he had given up on Kaido being the Messiah he had been waiting for.
Gratitude became his only reason to fight with Kaido and to make sure he won't lose.
Zoro's resolve was simply stronger because deep down, King knows that Kaido can't bring around the change that King wants for the world.

I can’t wait for King's return.
We will wait for you
:josad:
Someday we will witness
He will 100%. His flashbacks make it clear King is waiting for Joyboy. He will support Luffy is some way or form.
I really hope we see him again on his own in a Cover Story of something.
That's practically a given.
