You are forgetting Luffy is very stamina nerfed at the moment, barely standing according to Yamato.
In his prime state, who knows what other more taxing attacks he could do. Stamina is a big issue for G4 in exchange for it's tremendous potency.

Kaido was 39 when he fought Oden, he had been a pirate for 24 years, same age as current Shanks, older than WB when he reached his prime (38). He was as strong as he is now.

Yes it is. It was never state to be different hardening blade or barrier on your blade. In fact we never saw barrier on weapons. Barrier is simply using haki outside of your body, which you do to coat weapons. Once you use that technique without weapon you have that barrier everyone is talking about.

Barrier without weapon = Barrier
Barrier with weapon = Coating weapon

OKG does seem to be the new KKG design wise but it did less damage than a fucking base kick so I'm kinda doubting it is KKG 2.0, Luffy also seems to be able to spam it

Over Kong Gun is Luffy strongest attack nuff said.
If G4 stamina drain is the that of bigggg issues to give more drawback, Luffy won't used it. He'll fight in base till the end
