because he gave us "Kaido vs Luffy" earlier in the arc, now it'll be reverse when Luffy will end up the victor and for the climax fights "Law and Kid vs Big Mom", "Zoro vs King" and "Sanji vs Queen" we got it, so it'll be very off brand if Oda didn't do it.

but if kaido really gave up and stopped his attack immediately after realising that luffy is joyboy, then he simple surrendered himself to his predestined fate which he knew about it somehow.
that's like him saying: my role ends here.
