Further response. How can you say they just let things happen when they had many times to build up and fight back? You really underestimate how powerful the Beast Pirates were. And not to mention again sometimes people just have to pray and hope. It really comes off as you really didn't really anything.

the anime made a stylistic choice and you all run with it. Ryuma was burned with regular flames, that’s literally all.
Also Zoro was only able yo do that to pica through orlumbus throwing him at high speeds leading Zoro to finish the job
