you cannot say weaker characters cannot beat king, just because they can’t beat him in 10 minutes like zoro.

zoro only got a 1.1 billion berry bounty from beating king. Meaning king is only marginally stronger than kata and the reason he’s worth 1.37 is because he’s lunarian.

Zoro outperformed all of the SN on the rooftop. Pre Wano war Luffy can't beat King.

The reason it took Luffy hours to beat Katakuri was because he is only YC level in G4 which only last a few minutes before he has to recover to use it again. Most of the battle was Luffy using his G4 to keep up with Katakuri, G4 ending, Luffy running away to recover and then repeat it all over.

Early Wano Zoro would beat Katakuri.

Luffy has FS, king doesn’t

Luffy can fight king for 12 hours, dodging all of his attacks and repetitively hitting him with low level attacks until his defense breaks.

I greatly dislike the whole Rocks stick since it dunks on the portrayal of long established characters for little to no purpose. I've talked about it elsewhere in thread about Oda's world building. I'll just quote the relevant bit here. Lol.

Oda also has this habit of needlessly expanding the lore of his verse even when it adds nothing. Case in point, Xebec.

For over 20 years, it was a fact that the big names of the Old Era were Roger, Shiki and Newgate with Roger being the greatest among them.

900+ chapters and 20 years later and Oda spontaneously drops Xebec out of nowhere as a rival to Roger (who already had three rivals) and as the original Captain of Newgate, Shiki, Kaido and Linlin which just makes so little sense considering the personalities of these characters demand that they be independent. It also takes a bit of the "legendary" sheen off of these characters knowing that they were subordinates to some other bloke before they became Captains.

Unless Xebec ends up being Oda's version of Madura (which is a bad idea in itself) then there was absolutely no reason to introduce a character like Xebec this late into the story since all he does is degrade the portrayal of already well established legendary characters.

Oda simply likes endlessly expanding the lore of his verse regardless of if it actually adds anything to it.

Portrayal wise Doflamingo was a Mini yonko. Oda just messed up by not making it clear that he got nerfed by Gamma Knife

Yep, BirdCage held an entire country hostage.
Gamma Knife & KKG - the two strongest moves of two Supernovas back then were needed to bring Doffy down.

Yeah. Given Whitebeard collapsed from a heart attack, it never made sense for a move that ripped the entirety of Doffy's organs to pieces and fried those pieces further (Counter Shock) to not do heavy damage. Stitching his organs together was but first aid; the organs were still fatally injured.

Doffy:
- Used a YC as a chair

Akainu doesn’t fit with the feeling of One Piece anymore. Oda said he was going to make things sillier. And Akainus character and powerset don’t align with that.

I honestly don’t see him being a final villain. At most he’ll be a mid arc opponent

Chapter was nice, but Oda once again said "fuck it" to any kind of inner-manga logic.

Blackbeard sitting at 2.2 billion after all the unbelievable stuff he pulled off already didn't make sense.

But him getting a 1.8 billion raise for doing absolutely nothing since the last time we saw him (like for real: he was only chilling on Bee Hive and then sailed to Amazon Lily, nothing more) is even dumber from a logical perspective.

While I'd love that, it will either be BB or Imu. Marines haven’t gotten a single win post-TS. If Akainu/Marines are meant to be the final antagonist group, they wouldn’t get treated this badly.

I still think Shanks warning Gorosei had something to do with it. Gorosei possibly influenced BB's raise.
