Don’t understand why people seem bothered by Saul being alive. Always felt odd that Kuzan would kill him like that when his sensibility seems to give a different take on the absolute justice deal, plus the nature of his fruit and freezing makes sense as well.
Like others have said it gives Robin a bit more light in her tragic past since she did go through a whole character arc from it and dealt with it for years.

One of the better chapters for sure
Ok but what about the buster call, how did he manage to survive in that condition?

Its very easy to see why. Because narratively it fits better if he was dead.
What you mentioned is just retrospect. A bad one. Because Kuzan was there to kill and destroy not to just watch. And he already tried to kill Robin too. We just accepting it like Oh he was just acting for the audience he did not really mean any of that.

I think before questioning it first need a
Bigger reveal on Kuzan‘s motivations and how Saul survived needs to be revealed before it’s assumptions. The reasons so give so far fit with Kuzan as a character. He allowed the SH to escape with Robin once as well right? He’s simply not like either Akainu or Kizaru. It’s a hypothesis but again…his devil fruit is freezing and he froze a seemingly important character who happens to be a giant. It’s not an asspull.

Would be a five star chapter…

… but I don’t like Saul surviving. Yes, I can make sense of it. Giants are especially tough, he’s a D, Ice Time Capsule + fire = thawed but scarred, but I’m not a fan of it. With Olvia and Clover and the others staying dead it’s not completely enraging, but it is a disappointing. And I really liked Saul.

Germa cover story is back to boring with the Blackbeards gone.

I did find it a bit odd to realise that while we readers knew about Ohara and their theory, the other Strawhats never actually got told. But yeah, jumped back to check, she just vaguely talked about how Ohara was destroyed. So that’s pretty excusable, especially to remind casual readers of what was being talked about.

Vegapunk’s obviously discovered too much, maybe his latest thing he wants the Strawhats to see, and that’s why he’s getting assassinated now.

The books in the lake are a checkovs gun that’s finally been fired, so that’s pretty cool. Looks like Hajrudin and his crew helped Saul? Hopefully Oda’s finally going to start following through on Dragon’s hype now. So he had some freedom fighters but hated war? Vegapunk’s design is lol, but his motiviation of greed plus decent Navy men is a decent one. Perhaps a founder of Sword, if not the founder?

Definitely off to Elbaf next then, as is Kid and maybe Law, since Saul’s the man marked by flames. If they gathered the Ohara books I think they probably gathered the FI Poneglyph for safekeeping as well.

Is Quaser a character or is it a speech tick that old Vegapunk had but young didn’t? I think a character, maybe the robot, but it’s oddly done.

Seems we’re in line for quite a chunk of exposition chapters, which perhaps explains why Oda stuck in the start of Blackbeard vs Law.

Ok, but Jozu who got also completely freezed by Aokiji too lost his arm just by falling to the ground. And Saul, who got bombs on his head, survived? :whitepress:
Saul was frozen while lying on the floor.
He then catches fire, usually idle fire barely does anything in OP but he was exposed for extended periods as he was frozen to the bone. Once his temperature adjusted he had already suffered severe burns.

Someone must have saved him later else it wouldn’t make sense, if he’s still bandaged months after then these burns were fatal

Just think that the head from the surroundings helped to melt it...he did not get hit at all.... I mean we know how much care went to luffy and robin when they froze...but that won't matter here :kayneshrug:

LMAO 🤣, i expected a goofy ass design for Vegapunk, but holy shit! This is beyond anything i was expecting, far beyond Raizo's reveal
Raizo is 10/10 before Vegapunk

Basically word-for-word the same thoughts as mine lol

Also, quaser seems to be his speech quirk, but mqybe he picked it up after he split into six
