you get it wrong. He was holding Kid back, even foreshadowed his CoC and didn’t used it, because he had bigger plans for him later, I.e. shanks.
That’s why any kind of flashback is still missing, the knowledge of his motivation, still missing.

Giants were hyped by Big mom, she said she would've defeated ALL yonko if she had them on her side. Turns out they are buddies with Shanks.

Kidd should put a good showing and some AoE attacks. That's it.
