Yeah that's true.
Oda has not explained the mechanisms behind the flames going off randomly so it is hard to tell.

Even S-Boa has flames when hitting the bubble ball but the no flames afterwards

How much damage? Not sure.. But it did some.

His soul is still from BM, even though he's a different entity. All homies have independent thought, yet they are from souls of someone.

But he did not draw it with flames on when the attack hit hence the disagreement. You can assume the intent, sure but it is not there in the panel

I would just argue that Oda couldn't be bothered to draw his flames with all that clutter from lightning.

It's same with King vs Zoro finale, too much clutter with all the flame from the imperial dragon attack. So Oda didn't draw. But we can know from context that King likely had flames on, since an prior instances where he used fire was in flames on mode.

I mean, let's think about it for a moment.
Why would S-shark have flames on just before the attack, just after the attack, but turn off the flame just to get hit? Unless manga specifically mention that he turned off the flame for whatever reason, the logic doesn't add up.

fair but I don’t think if the person their soul is from does the homie would die too, just because this devil fruit seems like it’s physically giving life to something rather than just reanimating them like moriahs fruit.
