Well, I personally never used that as an argument. It wouldn't even make sense to begin with, since Marco was a kid at that point in time.
I am not denying that Luffy's reaction is a testament of Kizaru's power and threat-level, it's just that Luffy wasn't concerned for himself. Obviously, a top tier appearing out of nowhere and posing a threat to everyone around, including his crew, is something that would concern Luffy, just as Shanks was concerned seeing how Kidd was about to annihilate those fodder captains he held concern for and just as Whitebeard was concerned about a strong enemy approaching his crew.
But Luffy already proved that he isn't concerned for himself. He faced 3 admirals at once pre TS, he attacked Fujitora when he had but basic Haki and even after being sent flying by Fujitora's raging tiger, wanted to go on with the fight. When Ryokugyu assaulted Momo and the Retainers, Luffy was watching the fight with amusement, while Yamato stated that they should call Luffy and the others, as they are better than Ryokugyu.
There is absolutely no basis for thinking Luffy is concerned for his own well being. Lol.

Wouldn’t that be the exact reason that Luffy would be ignorant of what it means to face an Admiral? That he was ignorant of how powerful they are because his Haki was basic, but now that he has advanced Haki, he was shitting himself over Kizaru?

That is some mental gymnastics right there. Trying to make admirals stronger than they are. One can comment that someone is strong without shitting their pants ore fearing them. Doffy said about Sanji that he was strong while he stopped his attacks and still wounded him without problems. This is the same her. Luffy can state that someone strong arrived on the island without fearing him.

You don't need to advanced Haki to recognize that Admirals and Yonko are a threat. People just misinterpret Luffy's reaction due to agenda.

People really forgot what a monster Gear 5 is? Lucci basically was able to push Luffy to that form, somewhat keep up with him and even clash him equally resulting in both flying away.

You dont know how tense he was when he initially sensed him/watched the fight before Shanks intervened.
The fact that Shanks felt the need to step in speaks volumes about the threat lvl Aramaki represented.
As for Yamato well yea you'd hope that Luffy+his whole crew can get the better of Aramaki alone lol.
