When he stretche'd Kaido's face there was lightening, Luffy didn't use much advCoC attacks after getting G5 until BJG. There is clear distinction between his awakening attacks and advCoC attacks even with G5.

My interpretation:
Kizaru puts up his act to get to VP first before anyone else and then wants to save him.
Against Luffy he sees he stands no chance so best he can do is push him out of the way and continue to get to VP.

Although it's strange to mislead Sentomaru his close friend. So instead it might be he realizes he can't be Luffy so he tries to trick him for a brief moment as a distraction.

How will he save him though? Luffy is the best bet and if he wanted to save him then why he lectured sentamaru on duty lol

Do they really know what G5 means? It's a matter of how much admirals are kept in the dark about the void century. All they are told is to punish those that research it. Do they really know the why or they just follow orders like the military dogs they are. They straight up obey every command. It is unclear justice. He don't want to kill vegapunk but he will kill him either way. Last chapter he said he will kill then this chapter he said he don't. It is part of his justice.

Not talking about speed but defense. Even characters don't move at the same speed all the time. It is evident as Kizaru can increase speed. He has to take so much room to attack Luffy as in his words 'speed is weight' and higher the acceleration, higher the attack power.
Kizaru speed > Snakeman.
AdCoC+barrier increases defense and attack power, so if he used that, Luffy may not dodge the attack from Kizaru but can defend to the extent possible.

But WB was able to 'slash' Kizaru and yet Kizaru was unhurt.

I believe he knows something about Saturn nobody else there knows. So he rather takes matters into his own hands, if saving is truly his goal.
