In the doubters' defense, Sabo escaped all of the gorosei and Imu on their home turf. So, their feats going in weren't too high. I can see why the doubters would doubt.

If Sabo had made it alive in front of five admirals + a GA, they would have clowned them to no end, let's be serious lol.

- Mr.1 blocked the kick with his arms (even if he hadn't, it's not like Mr.2 was gonna hurt his steel torso, and if he had chosen to turn his arms into rotating blades, Mr.2 would have lost a foot right there).
- Mr.1 was pushed towards a wall... but didn't even crash against it, he cut it down with slashes casually before touching it and literally landed on his feet on the other side.
- And just as Mr.1 was about to start using slashes against Mr.2, they were stopped.

Mr.2 didn't look bad per se, but he didn't get the better of anyone there, and he was saved from the obvious outcome. All he achieved was annoying him.

Getting the better of someone is not getting your attack blocked and your life spared.

Mr. 1 got bruised from the kick and sent through a wall. That’s just canon. That’s literally getting the Better of someone. Theres No point denying that.

It doesn’t matter who’s stronger we all know Mr. 1 would actually win if the fight continued; but it doesn’t change that Mr. 2 did get the Better of him in that exchange.
