At the end of the day, One Piece is still his story, the fans shouldn't dictate and tell Oda what to do.

But at the same time, Oda should listen to his editors and listen to their feedback.

Nah I disagree that Luffy vs Kizaru fight was one of the most ass fights we ever seen in one piece
Now that has also to do with that was not a real fight IMO and they trying to get/protect vegapunk but still, that whole sequence was lame.
I hope we get a proper fight with Kizaru down the line that does him justice

I don't know who are bigger bitches: Oda who went butthurt after receiving some slight criticism and ghosting this guy for a day or the same editor who seriously complains about Luffy's expression being too "scared"... He seriously needs veteran editors who tell him off when he's writing garbage manuscripts.

Yes it his story, but we fans are also a reason why One Piece what it is today. Saying to not care for loyal fans who buy volumes and other One Piece stuff since 20years+, at least he can also respect our criticism.

You mean wano? Dont know there was a heightened focus on combat for Zoro there, combat being only thing Oda is even giving Zoro the last 6-10 years or so.

But I guess you have a point with the anime, the King fight is pure dog in the manga and is elevated in the anime, even tho I'm not a big fan of the aura vomit and dragonball animation they use

Not counting that criticism is always needed to learn the flaws and mistakes in your writing and help correct them. But it looks like the process has been blocked since at least Whole Cake Island, with the consequences on the writing quality we know.
