Fighting somebody bloodlusted will be completely different compared to fighting someone having the mental anguish of having to kill his best friend lol. Kizaru was never even truly focused on the fight nor did he really make an effort to land hits on Luffy.

Even Saturn called him out, “this is sloppy work and unlike the usual you Kizaru”. Kizaru didn’t even want to be there, he completely shut down after killing his best friend. Blud was likely praying that Luffy is successful in stopping his efforts.

Even by killing only Vegapunk he should still get some good dose of PTSD, anyway while this was nice by Oda showing Kizaru has feeling, and gave more depth to Kizaru too, now we have to see what the gorosei and Akainu think about Kizaru actions. Afterall it is also true that Akainu spared Aokiji in the end, even if it is not clear if Akainu knew Aokiji wanted to desert his navy.. Anyway for me ti would be plausible to a degree to have Akainu punish Kizaru or, way more likely, the gorosei do it (they are the superiors of his superiors and don't have any feeling towards him) but having actually on panel an Akainu vs Kizaru would be pretty cool
