Food do play a great role but i'd say he likes Nami pretty fine considering how he tearfully aplogize for "betraying her" and got heart eyes when she called him her partner/sidekick.

He always loved the idea, he simply didn't dare to disobey Big Mom so she forced his hand. Also just before these panels Zeus tried to electrocute Nami hence her hash tone.
