There´s no risk of Onshigama being destroyed. Big mom is surrounded and detained. Kaido can kill her if he wants(like he did when he was afraid of someone like Oden), or imprison her like he does everyone he´s not afraid of. King attacked BM ship because Kaido did not want them to reach Wano. Now that she´s in wano this is a different situation. Again, this would be like saying why doesn´t magellan kill Buggy when he´s in sea stone handcuffs? Because it´s not his role to do so, simply detain.

You could make it much simpler by stating that in One Piece characters rather make prisoners than kill

Shanks obviously won't be evil like the Kaido and Big Mom or like his father and brother, but I can still maybe see him being somewhat of an antagonist.

I mean he seems to have no problem allowing Yasopp to destroy Barto's ship while Barto and his crew were on it, and he allowed Dorry and Brogy to sink the Kid Pirates despite Kid's crew giving him the road poneglyphs and begging him to spare them.

1. Luffy recognizes that Shamrock is not Shanks;
2. Luffy understands Shanks' connection to the CDs (whom he might remember from his own punch in Sabaody).

You seem to forget they let him be in charge in the first place.
