If Luffy stays in base it ain't that shocking, his speed in that form isn't that crazy. Zoro isn't slow but he isn't the fastest character either

Oda can be kinda shit with keeping his powerscaling consistent, but it would truly be a new low for him if both Yonko Luffy and Zoro struggle against old man Gaban

Luffy would struggle to beat Old Garp or Old Ray. If old Gaban makes his struggle then there's no problem with that.
And Zoro's just a fodder. He will just be collateral in that fight

Time to prove why:

It's confirmed from today's spoilers that Gaban is the Pirate King's equal.

Who else is Roger's equal? None other than the WSM himself, Whitebeard.

So using simple laws of mathematics (A=B=C), we can derive that if Gaban is equal to Roger, he's also equal to WSM WB.

Now as we know from the manga, a heavily nerfed and weakened version of OLD Whitebeard (who couldn't even use base CoC)

Here is the amount of damage Whitebeard took AFTER being off meds and having stage 5 cancer and being old
Was absolutely rocking the shit out of PRIME Akainu

Old, mentally nerfed, stage 4 cancer, weakened Whitebeard forced Prime Akainu into the ground and BEAT him.

Now we know that Gaban is equal to a Prime Healthy version of Whitebeard.

Gaban is equal to a Whitebeard who isn't:

1) Old
2) Mentally nerfed
3) Stage 4 cancer
4) Weakened

And we already know that Gaban's equal can go fight prime, healthy and mentally amped Whitebeard for THREE FULL DAYS

While Akainu couldn't even fight for 10 minutes against a Whitebeard with 4 nerfs.

This just confirms Gaban = Roger = Primebeard >>>>>>>>>>> Old Whitebeard >>>>>>> Old Whitebeard with stage 4 cancer >>>>>> Old Whitebeard with stage 4 cancer and mental nerf >>>>>>>>> Old Whitebeard with stage 4 cancer and mental nerf and weakened >>> Prime Akainu

And to make it worse for admiral fans, prime Akainu is the strongest out of the 5. The other 4 are even more useless and fodder

If Gaban is Kaido, then admirals are Tama. That's the vast difference in their strength.

If this chapter proves anything, it's that come the end of the series, Zoro and Sanji will be made to look closer to Luffy than we thought. Not equal, but close enough. It's not my agenda by the way, I don't have an agenda, I like certain characters more than others but I have never turned my brain off because of it. I'm reading the words Oda is writing, which are clear. "Luffy Pizzadiffs Zolo and Lanji 1v2 EOS In base" Is not an opinion based in anything other than power scaling agendas.

The problem with this is of course the only way of showing the Zoro and Sanji are anywhere close to Luffy is to have Zoro and Sanji FIGHT ENEMIES WHO ARE CLOSE TO LUFFY’S ENEMIES

And this is highly improbably because there’s no one close to Imu or Teach for Zoro and Sanji to fight

Take Zoro for example, Mihawk WILL NOT BE CLOSE to Imu or Teach in power EoS… If you don’t think Mihawk is Zoro’s final fight then Nusjuro IS EVEN WORSE since he’s literally powered by Imu himself so he’s even WAY weaker than Imu and Shiryu is a literal bum compared to EoS teach who will likely eat another DF and defeat shanks

see, it’s hard to imagine an enemy for Zoro comparable to Imu or Teach and that not even trying to find such an enemy for freakin Sanji
