Literally this, people acting surprised like Luffy isn't always hype-tooled.
Nothing can take away from Luffy's feats vs Kaido until he next goes all-out and genuinely gets KOed. Because this man was no-selling named ACoC attacks from a serious hybrid Kaido and getting up immediately - Luffy's endurance/durability is one of the highest we've seen in the manga rn. I feel like people have forgotten how insane his feats were.
Even when Base Luffy has looked bad it's not like his opponents have actually been able to inflict any kind of significant damage on him. At this point Luffy just fights with himself and his own modes are the only things that can knock him out.
If Luffy wasn't using ACoC here and wasn't shown using FS to deal with Gaban's speed then we know for a fact he was barely trying. ACoC-less base Luffy is Queen level, of course he'd get bopped here. If he was using ACoC then that's a completely different story.

I am an objective fan.
Gaban didn't live the hype, I ain't gonna cope and take my fucking L and self embarrass myself. People dislike me because I can look "arrogant" when I am right, but I can also make fun of myself when I know I was fucking wrong.
I dislike how people act "modest" when they are right and I hate how they hide when they are wrong. When I deserved to be laughed at I am gonna be laughed at, when I was the victorious I am gonna laugh at the one who was wrong as well.
That's the person I am.
I hate pretending stuff, I can look extreme in my ways of be but that's how I am, I am gonna be full of myself when it comes to the stuff I am proud of me no faking false modesty when I know I am good and strong at something and I am gonna make a fool out of myself when I find out I was wrong / in the areas I am lacking.
